Aspire. Perspire. Goatmire.

We are fast approaching the largest thing I have ever organized. About 200 people involved. ~150 attendees, ~30 speakers and then some volunteers, catering staff, theatre staff.

Things are coming together. There will be challenges we haven't seen coming, I'm sure. But most things seem to be in place. People should be fed and spoken to. There is a lot of execution left in terms of making things great as the event happens. But that's then. Right now I'm just doing a bit of last mile fixing, checking and logistics.

People are reaching out who won't be coming but who are feeling the FOMO and are sweet enough to tell me. People who are coming are excited. The Discord is alive and active with people conspiring both about logistics and about breaking the bounds of their introversion. Vibes are good.

Admire. Desire. Goatmire.

The wider world is incredibly frustrating. Social media, the shifting of large-scale opinion. Hate, division, polarization and fear. It is very easy to decide that people are not worth the effort and the world is bad, evil and dumb.

Gathering good people is such a reminder of how fantastic people can really be. How much energy and life there is in the gathering. I've received so much attending community events in the past and I know I will in the future. I hope the community event we are pulling together will do the same for the people that attend.

I hope the waves spread from it contributes to larger good movement.

Have a great weekend.

Inspire. Retire. Goatmire.
