I have ideas for me .. do you? No images? Click here ![]() The next yearI do an unruly mix of things. I don't do all of them well, rarely evenly, almost never consistently. But I do things and I enjoy it. I don't ask for suggestions very often so I hope I'll get some interesting reflections now as I do just that. Some of what I do is my business. It requires making enough money to sustain my family. I have to be very pragmatic around that and it is a good mashup of luck and preparation that I get to do Nerves essentially daily for various clients. I also have some interesting conversations to follow up on that is more creative works like video and writing. I'm still mostly recovering from a rather intense bout of conference season so pulling on threads to make things happen can wait a bit longer. Another business venture is NervesCloud. My commercial efforts are quite parked in Nerves-mode for the foreseeable future and I like that fine. I won't spit at straight up Elixir work by any stretch but the focus is clear. I don't particularly need input on it though if people are interested in particular parts of what I do, how I do it, what led me to this point those are certainly in the roster of things. Then I do what can broadly be dubbed community and ecosystem stuff. I have a bunch of angles there. Am on the EEF board. Did a conference. I speak at Elixir and BEAM conferences. I "evangelize" by speaking at non-Elixir events. I write blog posts. I have done video and would happily do it again. Live streams are fun but not sure if there is much impact from them. I've been sloppy on the podcasting but have some ideas around there. I could imagine that a lot of people that follow what I do are not actually that interested in Nerves because it just isn't feasibly in their professional future. Maybe you are? Perhaps you have a conviction that the best way to spend my time is spreading Elixir to the masses.. Maybe you want Goatmire events. My commitment is that I will read and consider input. Typically I'll also respond, discuss, reflect. But at this particular moment I feel like I have a bunch of decisions to make and I think input would be helpful. Thank you for reading. I appreciate it. |
