Goatmire Elixir 2026 website

We are doing Goatmire Elixir 2026.

There is more information on the website!

28th of Sep - 2nd of Oct. This year. Varberg, Sweden.

Would you say no to inspiring teens?

I did not. And presently I'm suffering the consequences. A presentation that was so far away is getting closer very fast. Next week actually. Thankfully the technical prep for this talk will feed into the workshop and talk I'm doing end of month at a University. And the total accumulated technical prep and talking will feed into my ElixirConf EU talk in April. Still. Past me is brutally optimistic. Present me is consequently brutalized.

I hope I don't have any talk submissions submitted that might pop out in March.

Did I mention I'm pulling together a conference?

The thing is. Aside from needing to dedicate my weekend to this talk because all my prep time was taken away by a flu two weeks ago. I really enjoy this. I'm glad people want me to present. I hope I can do a good job encouraging the youths to pursue a wide variety of weird-ass skills because we all know I'm not doing all this because I'm so damn good at programming. Or at least I hope we all know that.

My art background, writing and quirks of personality makes my online presence. My technical understanding and lack of shame makes the money. The combination makes it work.

I had about 3 hours of high-bandwidth nerd talk because a member of the community dropped by my town. It was a stark reminder of what I love about conferences. We weren't even talking about our favorite code or whatever. We were problem-solving towards better EEF fund raising of all things. But just having that exchange with someone else who gets the community, who knows the culture, who thinks about this stuff.

Nerves Meetup EU manages to capture some of the same with the breakout rooms after the presentations. Just joy.

I really need to book accomodation and flights. I look forward to ElixirConf EU in Malaga a lot now.

Thoughts or prayers? I'm here on email or on Bluesky and the Fediverse, easy to reach.

Thank you for reading. I appreciate you.
