This Goatmire is the last one for a bit

I shared a post on this. Goatmire 2026 is happening. All systems are go. Things look good. Goatmire 2027 is explicitly decided to not happen. We're taking a breather, a break and making some space in our lives.

Nothing is decided beyond that. It is quite possible we return in 2028 but nothing is decided. This means that if you feel like you missed out on the previous Goatmire you should not bank on the next one.

So this is your fair warning to get your tickets.

Last year a lot of people said "oh, I would have gone if I heard about it". I don't know how to reach those people. I make noise in every channel I can conceive of and stomach in the space. But hopefully those people signed up for the list on this one.

Even if it is the last one we do for a while it has shaped up to be a goddamn 6 day Elixir festival.  See the two activities on the right-hand side which have taken shape.

AshConf at Goatmire

AshConf 2026

A collaboration between The Ash Project, Alembic and Goatmire International. Taking last year's Ash Summit and pushing it further.

Ash is a part of the ecosystem that is absolutely thrumming with activity, opportunities and possibilities. I also happen to like the framework itself. This is going to be awesome.

The call for speakers is open.

The registration is open and the first 15 to sign up get an Ash gift bag :)

Elixir Hackathon at Goatmire

Now also featured in the Goatmire menu. Registration is coming soon so monitor your socials.

Vacation is difficult sometimes

The vacation has started. I'm not sure I have started it yet. I am doing other stuff than working and definitely enjoying that I don't have to go be somewhere or do a particular thing for 8 hours of the day. But the first few days have been busy and I haven't nearly had any downtime. I know it takes about two weeks for me typically.

To unclench.

Relax into the flexibility.

I've also just had a whole pile of things to do. The house was a mess so yesterday was bone-headed tidying up. Today will involve vacuuming but also we'll have a friend and his kid visiting. Which will be delightful but definitely not likely to be restful.

Aware that I'm still engaging every fiber of my being into doing and I need to disengage from that. I've scheduled a day for myself where Stina takes the kids and goes to grandma and I do .. I don't know what. That's kind of the point.

The most relaxing part of vacation has been what has been the most relaxing during regular time. Attending karate. Stepping into another space and just doing difficult things.

It is good to have a break. Even though it hasn't nearly settled in yet. Hope you get a break as well.
