When it all floats

A moment

Liminal states. They show up everywhere. Big and small. Breathtaking leaps and nervous twinges alike.

Publishing a post to socials. A tiny sense of gravity lifting and a moment in which it could do anything. Any action can cause a chain reaction to occur and we can't know where the world will take what we make.

Sweating on the stage waiting to give your conference talk. More unnerving than setting up the HDMI. Way harder than giving the actual talk. Just waiting, projecting calm and staying in the uncertainty of everything.

Sitting in a lobby to meet someone you've never met to have an exchange you've never hd before. When the thing happens the possibility space collapses. We approach certainty.

Every code edit, before it compiles, before it runs. A moment of unlimited potentials.

Getting on the stage after more than six months of planning and work. Everyone involved has hopes and dreams in the balance. Tired from hard effort and energized by the moment. Audience seated in their own moments where they can't be sure what's coming.  We can't know what's coming. We've made plans but this is reality. 3 days of rolling forward momentum, unstoppable certainty, waiting towering. A thumbs up from the technician. A breath. Everything floats for a moment.

Then.
