The last mile(s)

Rehearsals. Checklists. Polish. Fixing. Reinforcing.

Making sure it doesn't just work but is hooked up all the way. Not leaving something dangling.

There is an art to it. The only way I know how to practice this particular art is under some significant pressure. Timelines. Clients. Deadlines. Dissatisfaction. Only occasionally under sheer creative joy and drive.

There is never just one thing. If you've ever set up a store for something. Finalized publishing a website. Prepared a talk. Published an open source thing.

The repos. The docs. The payment processing. The slides. It can't just be 80% done and actually operate. Well. Slides kind of can but it ain't what you want.

Dotting all the T's and crossing all the i's. Making sure all the checkboxes are on the checklist. Checking all the boxes on the checklist.

A lot of this currently. Last mile execution. Thankfully the pressure is there so we are definitely doing it. And I'm not doing it alone.

Many last miles being plowed.
